What camera/photography equipment/lighting/etc. do you use?
Canon EOS 450D with 18-55 kitlens. I also own a Cd-r king Tripod and a Phottix wireless remote for Canon (lol, cheap stuff). That’s pretty much it. I’m planning to get a 50mm f1.8 or f1.4 next.
I occasionally borrow the EF-S 60mm f2.8 macro lens and use it for purposes it was not intended for (landscape, portraits, I fail like that XD)
For lighting, I use natural light, or hack it with whatever lighting fixtures I have around the house (desk lamp, floor lamp, candle etc.) I use built-in flash for macro.
Which is better (insert comparison of 2 cameras/brands/etc. here) What camera do you think is best for a beginner? And other gear related questions.
Buy a camera that will do what you need to do. I don’t recommend blowing money on something you don’t need, or scrimping too much and end up buying something useless. Pay only for what you need.

For common questions on Self-portraiture
I take self-portraits as lighting/makeup/posing/etc. tests, or as concept pegs for future shoots, or for plain lulz. I’m not too keen on doing a Project 365 because I’d probably get sick of my face too soon. And I’m not doing it because I love myself k?
How do you edit your pictures?
It depends on the look I want to achieve. In a nutshell:
RAW processing -> Noise Reduction (using Noise Ninja) -> Retouch for Blemishes -> Color Adjust -> Curves -> Resize (for web, whatever purpose) -> Sharpen
Do you photoshop your skin whiter?
This is really one of the most common yet most annoying questions. No, I don’t photoshop my skin whiter per se, but I do some things with lighting and overexposure (while keeping highlights and shadows controlled) because it’s sure to nuke out blemishes. I do that with all pictures, it’s kind of my style.
Why Totoro? Where do you buy your Totoro stuff?
It has something to do with an experience from my childhood. When I was 7, Our class went to our teacher’s house to make milkshakes for class. They expected a bunch of restless kids, so they put on a movie to entertain us. It was My Neighbor Totoro. I had to go home early and I wasn’t able to finish the movie so I threw a tantrum. My parents had to scour the VHS rental stores in our area to find a copy for me to watch. I liked Totoro ever since.
I buy my Totoro stuff at ukay-ukay or conventions. Some are gifts from friends.
Who is your SNSD bias?
Sooyoung, with Taeyon a close second. Least favorite would be Yoona, closely followed by Sunny.
How did you get into V6/JE? And other Johnny’s related questions
I got into V6 because @Meriist posted a link of the Change the World PV on Plurk. Annoying song, but I realized that one of them, Yoshihiko Inohara, looked like my crush. I started stalking from there. I downloaded Gakkou e Ikou Special on V6 10th Anniversary, and that ultimately sealed the deal for me.
I appreciate V6 because there’s very little wank and the fandom is rather “mature”. The music is unique too, in a dance-y eurobeat happy vibes way.
Since then, I’ve dabbled in other JE artists. I like most of them, except HSJ and the juniors.
On overly personal questions, indecent proposals, invasion of Internet space and general trolling.
Don’t expect a serious answer. You’re lucky if I even bother to answer at all.
